BABYLON'S PEAK
PAARDEBERG • SWARTLAND
A private cellar, Babylons Peak is located on the slopes of the Paardeberg Mountain between Malmesbury and Paarl. Four generations have farmed here. Current winemaker Stephan Basson joined his father on the farm in 2003 and together they continue this legacy today. The farm's name is derived from the eponymous granite outcrop along its border. The decomposed traces of this rock can be found in the vineyards, giving them character pursued in the wines. At 700m above sea level, the farm has some of the highest vineyards in the region.
