DRAGONRIDGE
PAARDEBERG • SWARTLAND
Dragonridge Winery on Fynbos Estate shares its Paardeberg location between 15 ha of vineyards and 270 ha of nature reserve. One of the outcrops on the farm resembles a sleeping dragon, hence the name. The farm produces between 20 and 40 tonnes of organic grapes each year. Wine are made from unirrigated vineyards that are pruned and suckered to produce small yields of grapes in pursuit of concentrated flavours.
From approximately 900 organically farmed olive trees, various products are made. Dragonridge olive oil is distinctive, made in the European tradition for taste and longevity with a particularly potent and quite peppery profile. Table olives and tapenade are also produced.
The harvest from the organic lemon orchard is made into traditional Limoncello, cordials and preserved lemon products.
The farm also offers comfortable country accommodation, wine and olive tastings by appointment, delicious hearty country food for groups, and several venues for workshops, retreats, parties and weddings.
